The Dead Sea Scrolls are a collection of Jewish texts that were discovered between 1947 and 1956 in the vicinity of the Dead Sea.
The scrolls were found in eleven caves near the site of Qumran, and are believed to have been written between the second century BCE and the first century CE.

The scrolls consist of a variety of texts, including biblical texts, apocryphal and pseudepigraphical texts, sectarian documents, prayers, and legal documents.

The manuscripts were written on parchment, papyrus, and other materials, and many were in a state of remarkable preservation.

The texts provide important insights into the beliefs and practices of the Jewish community in the Second Temple period, as well as into the development of early Christianity.

The Bible and the Dead Sea Scrolls: Before the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest known manuscripts of the Hebrew Bible dated to the 10th century A.D. The Dead Sea Scrolls include over 225 copies of biblical books that date up to 1,200 years earlier.

They are among the oldest surviving copies of the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) and provide valuable insight into the text's transmission over time.

A major new work on the Dead Sea Scrolls, the oldest sacred documents of Judaism, which reveals their surprising connections to early Christianity.

In this enriching and exciting exploration, Henrich D. Evans demonstrates how the Dead Sea Scrolls—the world's greatest modern archaeological discovery—can shed light on the Church as a sacred society that offered hope, redemption, and salvation to its member.

Ultimately, these mysterious writings are a time machine that can transport us back to the ancient world, deepen our appreciation of Scripture, and strengthen our understanding of the Christian faith.

A fully revised and updated edition of our translation of the complete Dead Sea Scrolls, making it the definitive translation of the Scrolls in English.
With new texts, updated introductions, a glossary of terms, and other new additions, this will become the definitive translation of the Scrolls.

Now The Dead Sea Scrolls Collection in English has been updated with a number of previously unpublished texts, as well as extensive new introductory material and notes.
Almost 80 years after the Scrolls' discovery, this revised and expanded volume crowns a lifetime of research.

Among the biblical texts found in the Dead Sea Scrolls are fragments of every book in the Hebrew Bible except for the Book of Esther.

The versions of these texts found in the Dead Sea Scrolls are often older than the previously known versions and contain some variations in wording and content.

Henrich D. Evans & Team represents a global bookshelf of the best works throughout history and across genres and disciplines.

Readers trust the series to provide authoritative texts enhanced by introductions and notes by distinguished scholars and contemporary authors, as well as up-to-date translations by award-winning translators.

Excellent overview regarding the Dead Sea Scrolls and the Books that was included; of course I would recommend this book for others to read, however I did not read each line but it is interesting regarding the information made available.

He does not appear to exist, no credentials, no social media presence, no school, university affiliations, silent on education, experience and his sources. It is not the earliest Bible because it isn’t a Bible. The very nicest thing I can say is….some of his introduction in the book is already well known information about the Scrolls so at least some of that is collaborated with common knowledge. The body of the book, in my opinion, not validated by any other referenced sources.

I thought I was ordering a complete set of what was found at Qumran. Not so, only some of the biblical books. My complaints:
1)No information, credentials, reviews for the author
2)His information is general and repetitive
3)No credit or information is given to the translators
4) In the front of the book he has a DISCLAIMER as to responsibility for the accuracy of the book!
5)It is self published, referenced to no publisher, translators, etc.
6)The ad said it was published in April 2023. When the book came, it said May 29th, a date after I received it.
7) The book has about 140 pages. I got a scholarly edition, reviewed by prominent biblical scholars, that is 640 pages, with some introductions and explanations.(The Dead Sea Scrolls Bible, translated and with commentary by Martin Abegg, Jr., Peter Flint, and Eugene Ulrich) Really, 140 pages-complete?
Given all of the above, I would call this book a scam. Save your money.

Lame. Only has canonical bible texts, nothing else. It’s missing most of the scrolls. Sending it back.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very interesting

I was looking forward to reading this book because it is undeniably one of the most important archaeological finds of the 20th century. I did not know that prior to the discovery of the scrolls, no extant Jewish examples of the Old Testament had survived before the birth of Christ, and these scrolls also gave me an insight into the way the Old Testament books were written. It was a very interesting read, and I somewhat depreciated the overly incisive Christian influence on religious texts, including translations.

Nearly 80 years after the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls collection, this volume has been revised and expanded with major discoveries. Henrich D. Evans & Team is a world authority in this area. It was certainly an interesting read that enriched me culturally. Well written and never dull or boring.

Thanks to the parchment or papyrus manuscripts of the Dead Sea, which are kept in perfect condition, we are able today to have a historical and religious testimony of inestimable value.
The text is translated impeccably and gives the reader a unique experience.
