This book is wonderfully illustrated (the illustrations is what makes this book worth getting alone) and does touch briefly on each of the minor legends (too briefly for some, Bastet's information was far too brief). I believe that there could have been more information provided on the worship of the gods and goddesses than what is here (some of the rituals can be quite fascinating). The one area that this "Ultimate Encyclopedia" falls down on though is that it doesn't include any of the mythology from the Americas, Africa (outside of Egypt), Australian Aborigines or the Polynesian cultures; I could have been a bit more generous in my rating had these been included. Leaving three continents untouched along with the island cultures fails to make this the "Ultimate".
